What is an adjustable Standing Desk?
Standing Desk, Desk sitting upright, standing work station… There are many names for this kind of furniture. We called it Adjustable Standing desk. We developped it to be adjustable so that anyone can use it, no matter their size, the height of their desk or their equipment.
Benefits of a standing desk
When working in an office, we’ve always been sitting in our chair in front of our desk. This has been the norm around the world for years.
However, in recent years, on the campuses of Tech companies like Apple and Google, the fashion for standing work gain a lot of popularity.
Some said it was just a passing fad. Over time, more and more people have tried this practice. The American research institute PubMed.gov did a study comparing workers who sit all day and another group who used sit-stand desks.
Over a period of 6 months, the results observed were significant. Particularly in the reduction of cardio-metabolic risk factors. That is, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI) and weight loss.
According to several studies, people working standing burn 5 to 6 times more energy.
Ergonomics are increasingly appreciated by employees, with reason! This is something that employers will have to offer more and more in order to retain staff and even recruit!
Easy storage for your adjustable workstation
When you decide to work while standing, it is strongly advice to start gradually. Indeed, if your body is used to be sitting 40 hours a week, it will be difficult to be standing during this period. Even after getting used to working while standing, it is advisable to alternate between working seated and standing. Personally, I prefer to work standing up in the morning when my body is fresh and available. Since you move more, it allows you to be feel more awake at the start of the day.
With this in mind, we developped our workstation so it could be stored easily and quickly.

Materials and manufacturing
We use Russian Birch for cutting with our 3D digital cutting machine (CNC). After cutting everything out, we sand it all to remove any imperfections. Finally, we varnish all the pieces to make the workstation more resistant and durable.
